On the 12th of September 2018, our school organized a special assembly to commemorate Malaysia Day. The objective of this assembly is to highlight the unity and harmony of our multicultural country . The teachers and students were encouraged to wear traditional clothes.
The assembly started with the singing of the national and state anthems followed by prayers and recitation of pledges. Once the weekly report was announced, a speech was given by our school’s principal, Madam Mary John.
A few performances followed – the recitation of poems by the winning team of a previous poem recitation competition ; the school’s choir singing a patriotic song entitled “Kita Punya Malaysia” ; a multicultural dance by the Dance and Culture Club of our school.
The assembly ended with everyone joining in to sing ‘Jalur Gemilang’ as well as our school rally, ‘Proud to Be Teresian’. All in all, it was a great way to show our respect and love towards our dear country, Malaysia.
Love and Serve,
Amy Arianne
