On 27th of March, we celebrated the retirement of Mdm. Chan Leh Na, the Head of Language Department and English teacher. She served the school for 27 years, giving students knowlegde and guidance.

The ceremony begins with the welcoming of Mdm. Chan Leh Na together with the headmistress of SMK St Teresa, Mdm. Disin anak Nyaom.

To continue the farewell ceremony, two of our beloved teachers recited the doa and prayer. Afterwards, Mdm. Disin anak Nyaom and Mdm. Chan Leh Na were invited to deliver their heartfelt speeches.

The recitation of doa and prayer were led by Ustaz Afiq and Miss Grassey.

To honour the farewell of Mdm. Chan Leh Na, Mdm. Disin anak Nyaom delivered a sincere speech, expressing her appreciation for Mdm. Chan Leh Na’s hardworks and dedications in her work. As for Mdm. Chan Leh Na, she shared her stories and good memories from her teaching years.

After the heart-warming speeches, the event proceeded with cake-cutting ceremony followed by a video montage featuring Mdm. Chan Leh Na’s achievements and biodata.

The event was filled with excitements, our enthusiastic students had showcased their talents by dancing and singing. A group of students performed zumba and the Choir club performed a special song for our beloved teacher. Mdm. Chan Leh Na joined their performances to create more cherished memories with the school community before her time at the school came to an end.

The ceremony continued with a photo-taking session, where students and teachers captured precious moments with Mdm. Chan Leh Na, the retiring teacher. Following that, the gift-giving session was to show appreciation to the retiring teacher, beautifully wrapped gifts given by the students and the teachers.

The last activity of the day was the journey to Mdm. Chan Leh Na’s car, marking the end of her journey at the school with sweet memories and smiles all around. With that, it was a meaningful way to end a day filled with gratitude and togetherness.
