On April of 2025, SMK St. Teresa had an exciting week of STEM filled with plenty of activities, competitions, and showcases of all things science n’ math!

From water rockets to experience the challenges of physics, 3D designing to display creativity mechanically, bridge building to face life’s most common architectural problem, mathematics exploration, to even a Run Go-kart Tournament that pulled the eyes of everyone around.

On 14th April, we kicked off with the Water Rocket Competition, where participants designed and launched their own rockets, showcasing both creativity and physics in action.

That same day, we also held the 3D Design Competition, where students used digital tools to create innovative and detailed 3D models based on the given themes.

On 16th April, the spotlight shifted to the Bridge Building Competition. Participants were challenged to construct strong and stable bridges using limited materials, testing their engineering and problem-solving skills

Meanwhile on the 23rd, we had STEM Carnival which we also had Go-Kart Tournament, which brought speed and strategy to the forefront, and the Mathematics Exploration, an intellectually stimulating challenge that pushed participants to think critically and creatively.

On the same day, we also had other exciting activities such as the PBL (Problem-Based Learning) STEM Challenge, 3D Design exhibition, a Robotics exhibition by students from SMK St. Joseph, and a drone exhibition that attracted a lot of attention from students and teachers alike.

Afterwards, a school assembly was held where our school principal, Mdm. Disin Anak Nyaom and our esteemed guest, Kuching District Education Officer, Ms. Chong Chee Huea, gave speeches to reflect on the event’s success and congratulate the winners.

Then, tokens of appreciation were presented to our esteemed guests. Prizes and certificates were also awarded to the teachers who were in charge and winners of the various competitions held throughout the STEM Week.
