On the 16th May 2018 , our school held Teachers’ Day as an appreciation to the teachers who taught us knowledge, morals and much more. The event was held in the hall of ACCPC building. The big hall shone with decorations that were full of iconic marvel heroes based on the theme chosen, that was Superhero. The event began at 7: 35 a.m. with the presentation of gifts to the teachers as soon as the teachers arrived at the hall. Then, the event proceeded with speech-giving by Madam Mary John, principal of SMK St Teresa and the head prefect, Celine Chua.
The cutting of the cake by the teachers and performances by the band members marked the end of the formal part of the event and the informal part began right after the break. The highlight of the event was the retirement of Madam Euphrasia Lee. She was the senior assistant for student affairs and had served for 27 years. Once again, Madam Mary John was invited to deliver her speech followed by Madam Euphrasia herself. In her last speech, she hoped that the students strive for excellence in their studies. Then, the event continued with presentation of gifts by several clubs and boards of SMK St Teresa to Madam Euphrasia to express gratitude to the teacher who contributed a lot during her period of service to the school. Some of the students and teachers performed and enliven the event. The celebration ended at 11:50 a.m. sharp and the students went home while the teachers enjoyed their lunch in the hall.
